Outdoor Program - Summer Climbing & Mountaineering & Backpacking Activities
Sign-up for all trips starts Monday, May 19th at the Outdoor Program Office. Trip fees are due at sign-up and are non-refundable. Further information about trips is available at the Outdoor Program.

Climbing & Mountaineering
BACKPACKING TRIP, River Canyon: Explore a premier canyon hike while it is still green and not too hot. $20 includes transportation. Trip: June 14th-15th, pre-trip meeting June 12th @ 4:30pm.
INSTRUCTIONAL MOUNTAINEERING TRIP, Wallowa Mountains Oregon: An introduction to basic mountaineering, where we will introduce snow and ice climbing skills. Participants should have previous backpacking & techniqual climbing experience. $30 includes transportation and instruction. Trip: June 28th-29th. Pre-trip meeting: Thurs. June 26th @ 4:30pm.
MOUNT RAINIER SERVICE TRIP & CLIMB, Glacier Basin: Come help the UI Outdoor Program and the NPS repair a high mountain area damaged by flooding, and then climb the second highest peak in the continental United States. Previous snow and ice climbing experience is required, or attending a introduction to mountaineering trip. $75 included group gear, transportation, and peak fee. Trip: July 29th-August 3rd. Pre-trip meeting: Thurs. July 24th @ 4:30pm.
MOUNTAIN BIKE, Central Idaho: Cruise some of Idaho's best singletrack and downhill trails. Mountain bike and previous experience required. $55 includes transportation and group gear. Trip: July 11th-13th, pre-trip meeting July 10th @ 4:30pm.
Climbing Center
SRC CLIMBING CENTER, OPEN CLIMBING: Monday - Friday 3:30 to 8 pm, Satuday 12 to 6 pm, Day Pass $6, BASICS CLINICS: Wednesday 4 pm & Sat. 12:30, $6 member $11 non-member, YOUTH OPEN CLIMBING: All above times, For Your Group (Youth or Adult),Groups can be booked and are welcome during other times, $6 per person, minimum $60.
THE BASICS CLINIC -- Wed. @ 5pm, Harnesses, knots, and belaying, the basic skills you need to start climbing on the climbing wall. Students $6, non-students $11, includes shoes, harness, and belay device.
(Children ages 13 and under are designated "Climber Only" and must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian) |
